GE Intelligent Platform’s RIU-2000 Remote Interface Unit provides a
light-weight, low-power interface for Vehicle Management Systems
applications. This cost-effective interface has been ruggedized for
use in harsh vibration, shock and EMI environments. Configura-
tion flexibility is maximized in this RS 232/422/485 interface, which
features conduction cooling and 25W power dissipation. Inputs
include two 10/100BaseT Ethernet ports, two RS-232 ports, six
RS-422/485 5-wire I/O, 16 analog (-10 to +10V), 16 open/28V discrete,
eight TTL discrete, four pulse counter (freq.), one thermocouple
analog, three RTD analog (4-wire), and one JTAG. Outputs include
eight TTL discrete, four analog (-10V to +10V), 16 open/28V discrete
or 16 open/GND discrete, four +10V excitation signals, four -10V
excitation signals, four stepper motor drive, and one JTAG.
