GE Intelligent Platforms’ line of COTS multiprocessor hard-
ware solutions includes single board computers (SBCs) and
multiprocessors based on Intel, NVIDIA and PowerPC proces-
sors, as well as fabric switch cords, PMC/XMC carriers and
FPGA processing engines. We also offer our market-leading
AXIS suite of multiprocessor software that includes an inte-
grated development environment and high-performance
math and function libraries that reduce development time
and maximize performance for even the most demanding
signal and data processing applications. Our multiprocessor
hardware and software products have been incorporated
into numerous deployed platforms that include underwater
and naval surface sonar, land-based radar, and airborne
sensor, image and radar processing.
The DSP280 is a rugged dual socket multiprocessor based on the 2nd
Generation Intel Quad Core i7 that was designed to meet the rigorous
real-time demands of applications such as intelligence, surveillance, and
reconnaissance (ISR), radar, sonar, image and sensor processing across
a wide range of platforms including manned and unmanned airborne,
ground and naval vehicles.
The IPN250 is the world's first 6U OpenVPX GPGPU COTS board for rugged
military and aerospace applications. Customers can deploy their CUDA,
OpenCL, OpenGL and video and image processing applications developed
on Intel- and NVIDIA
®
-enabled PCs directly onto GE's new rugged GPGPU
platforms. The IPN250 delivers unprecedented levels of computing perfor-
mance for SWaP-constrained platforms at lower cost, thus creating new
application opportunities that were previously unthinkable. The IPN250
enables system integrators to deploy a single COTS module where previ-
ously multiple disparate modules would have been required - for example,
undertaking front-end processing of sensor-acquired data, digital signal
processing, backend processing and graphics/video processing, and
delivering high-resolution mission-critical data more rapidly than has
previously been possible.
Our lineup also includes the NPN240, which is the world's first
rugged, NVIDIA CUDA-enabled dual GPGPU multiprocessor for mili-
tary and aerospace applications. The NPN240 features two NVIDIA
CUDA-capable GT240 96-core GPUs that enable it to deliver up to 750
GFLOPS peak per card slot. Multiple NPN240s can be linked to single
or multiple hosts to create multi-node CUDA GPU clusters capable
of thousands of GFLOPs. Providing a highly computationally-dense
platform, the NPN240 is ideal for demanding SWaP-constrained appli-
cations. Many military/aerospace companies and organizations are
finding CUDA technology exciting, as it has been demonstrated to be
capable of delivering significant improvements. Indeed, one company
experienced a 15x increase in throughput in a radar application.
