OPERATING DESCRIPTION:
Your Light-Sensing Timer is activated by changes in
surrounding light. For optimum performance, the
Light-Sensing Timer should be positioned in an area
exposed to a strong source of natural light. For indoor
applications, ideal positioning is in a lamp xture located within 4 ft. of a
window or other light source.
Once power is supplied to your Light-Sensing Timer, the control will turn on
at dusk (or when the surrounding light level becomes low enough) and then
turn off after the selected time period. Once the bulb automatically turns off,
it will remain off until the following night. At dusk on the following night, the
Light-Sensing Timer will once again turn on, then turn off after the user
selected time period. As long as power is supplied to the control, the
Light-Sensing Timer will continue to cycle on and off in this manner.
INSTALLATION (For use indoors or in enclosed xtures)
1. Turn "OFF" power to light xture.
2. Screw Light-Sensing Timer into light xture.
3. Screw bulb into Light-Sensing Timer.
4. Position control so that the photocell eye faces a strong source of light.
5. Turn "ON" power to lightxture (middle setting for 3-way lamp).
Light-Sensing
Timer will begin to operate in 30 to 60 seconds.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Your Light-Sensing Timer has two adjustment features
a) Timing Adjustment - Adjust “Timer knob as desired to a minimum
setting of approximately one hour to a maximum of approximately six
hours.
b) Sensitivity Adjustment - Adjust “Turn-On knob to left
(counterclockwise)
for earlier (brighter) activation or right (clockwise) for later (darker)
activation.
Once the timing cycle begins, the lamp will remain on for one cycle
duration
regardless of light level.
To force on or extend the timing
cycle for additional one to six hours.
a) In dark conditions, turn off lamp for
approximately 60 seconds, then
turn on. After 15 seconds, light
bulb
will turn on and timing cycle will
begin.
b) In light conditions, completely
cover photocell eye until
light bulb turns on.
ADJUSTMENTS
After measuring the length of one
timing cycle, adjust knob according
to preference. Setting the Timer
knob to mid-range, will result in a

hour timing cycle.
To adjust the light sensitivity setting, set Turn-On” knob to center
position.
If lamp turns on before the desired darkness level is reached (i.e. early
dusk),
adjust knob clockwise. If lamp turns on after the desired darkness level is
reached, adjust knob counterclockwise.
Note:
The Light-Sensing Timer requires a certain amount of surrounding
light during the day to reset. Some applications may require initial knob
adjustments to ensure re-set conditions are met so your Light-Sensing
Timer will operate properly. See troubleshooting section for details.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem:
Control turns on at dusk during the rst night of operation but
does not turn on at dusk during the second night (or second timing cycle)
of operation. This means the Light-Sensing Timer did not see enough light
during the daylight hours to reset. This problem usually occurs on cloudy
or overcast days when there is no sunlight.
Solution:
Move Light-Sensing Timer closer to a natural light source
and/or adjust the Turn-On knob clockwise. Repeat on subsequent nights
if necessary.
Problem: Light-Sensing Timer
does not turn on at all.
Solution:
Make sure power is supplied to light xture. Ensure light bulb is
not burned out. For 3-way lamp xtures, make sure the lamp switch is set
at the middle switch position. The Light-Sensing Timer should turn on after
photocell eye sees darkness or after photocell eye is completely covered.
